Packing everything without carrying anything
I never ever check in anything, except that one time when I met up with a friend who had been travelling for the past couple months and asked me to bring his skiing gear of whatever home because he was on route to warmer latitudes. Then I checked a bag.
I grew up living every other week at my mom's and dad's places. During some periods I tried living four days at each place and sometimes I tried a two week switcharoo. I always had the necessities with me and I hated dragging heavy bags via school and training (which also required me bringing a shower towel) per local buses etc. You might suggest I'd have clothes as both parent's houses, and yeah, I did have most things but never the right things unless I brought them, according to my teen logic and what the cool kids wore yesterday. And it's kind of hard to change that now.
But what my sore shoulders never knew they would win from all that, was me mastering the art of packing everything without carrying anything!
I therefore have some tips for y'all! Plan what you're travelling in and make sure everything including the shoes are a part of your outfit plan. Wear a scarf (= cover up on flights). As for actual packing I always pack in a necessity level order:
- Are these things packed you'll be fine, meaning you could actually do that whole week with only these things if you had to:
- Underwear Toothbrush, hairbrush Charger
- A bikini if it's a beach vacay and a skirt to change into when you arrive
- Do you need bed linens? Do you need a towel?
- But you dont want to have to. So as for change of clothes:
- Some tops 1 pair of shorts 1 extra skirt 1-2 dresses
- 1 pair of shoes (wear the heavy pair, pack the light pair)
- 1-2 extra bikinis
- Then we have the extras that you definitely can go without:
- Cremes Book Camera Beach cover up
Also, there probably are stores where you're going. Travel safe!
